We are who we say we are.

Here at SFA Academy, it is important that parents hear from other parents when making such an important decision on whether they can trust that we are who we say that we are.  We are extensions of you.  We encourage parents to reach out to other parents regarding our school and sports programs.  We will gladly provide parents contact information to other parents in order to thoroughly perform their due diligence,  Take a look below.

Coach Martin

An out-of-state parents experience

Raising our kids in Anchorage,  Alaska Has been amazing. However, when it comes to sports, College exposure is limited. Although our son Junus dominated in Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d'Alene. Idaho, the offer just wasn't coming in. One night we were hanging out talking football and Junus said if he had better competition in a bigger market he could earn a D1 offer. Now, for kids from Anchorage, Alaska getting a division one offer from any school is a big deal and a huge achievement. So as parents, we started to look for options going into his senior year. One morning he mentions a coach has been messaging him on Twitter on how he likes his film.  Unsure about the school or the coach he asked me to check it out. Fast forward 2 weeks Junus goes and visits Specially Fit Academy abrand new school in Dover, Florida.  While on his 3-day visit, he got to visit the school, check out the city, meet the coaches, and see where he would be living. They gave him a VIP visit. While he was there he stayed in the house where he would be living with a coach and a few other teammates if he decides to enroll. I was kept up to date while he was there by the school owner and the coach he was staying with. The second we picked him up from the airport he said he loved it and had to go back ASAP, the decision was made.  I talked to the coach he was staying with who I now call Uncle Dirty and got the process started.  During the summer SFA attended several College Football Camps and Junus started to get some positive attention. The communication and feedback with the SFA coaches were amazing.  They kept us informed on the camps and Junus development.

Thanks to the Head Coach, Coach Ken Junus will be starting the season on a few school's radars.  Coach Ken told me it's his job to get Junus to the next level and I was confident in his ability due to their awesome off-season regimen. Shortly after some camp visits, Junus received his first Division One Offer. To us, this was such a shock.  He got his first offer before the season started. Job well done by the coaches at SFA.

There are three major people that I consider family at this point:

There's Uncle/ Coach Dirty who is truly the man taking care of the day-to-day business and living arrangements.

There is Coach Ken the Head Coach who is truly an honest man of his word and does it all. I can't thank him enough. Knowing the game of football and Knowing how to get your kid to the next level is not easy by no means. However, Coach Ken finds a way to win games and get all his seniors recruited to play college ball. That is a win-win for any family.

There is Coach Martin the Defensive Backs Coach. Coach Martin was one of the coaches who hosted Junus on his initial visit.  Coach Martin took a liking to Junus and always kept it real with me.

I never wanted to call Coach Ken even though he was always available because I knew he always had a lot to handle with getting all those young men to the next level. However Coach Dirty and Coach Martin always kept in touch. The workout and practice updates were frequent. Coach Martin would call me and talk about Junus and he's developed as a player and his coach ability. Besides Coach Martin not being a Packer fan he is an overall good friend. Personally Coach Martin and Dirty feel like extended family. I thank God for having those men in my son's life. I know there's a lot that goes into running a brand new program at a brand new school but those three men are amazing people.

Their honesty, organization, and hard work took all the worry and doubt away. It was easy to tell that they love what do and care about their players and that means everything. SFA celebrated having Junus and not just tolerating him as most schools do with players on large teams.

Oh last but not least let me give Ms Kelly a shout-out for coming up with the academic college prep game plan. Let me just mention that Junus is as good as a student as he is an athlete, maybe even better. With an average 3.7+ GPA while taking honor and college courses he's ready for the next step academically as well. Once the football season started my wife and I were confident SFA got Junus and the rest of the team ready to complete. SFA went 10-3 and made it to the State Championship Game playing against a tough IMG and in February

Junus will sign his letter of commitment to a D1 College. Wow, what a fairy tale story. I had to write this letter to let parents know that this school is where you want your son, it truly is. The coaches and teachers love their job and have met all our expectations.Junus recently told me "If he didn't come to SFA he didn't think he was ready for college". Now thanks to all the coaches, teachers, living arrangements, training, camps, travel, and competition he says he's 💯 confident and ready to win at the next level. Oh, he's a really good cook now too 🙂. If you want your son to play high school sports at a highly competitive level in a collegiate environment then contact the Coaches at Specially Fit Academy and schedule a VIP visit. They're not changing the game their just Elevating it. Rochette & OlgaParents of #22 Class of 24' Junus McGraw
